Waiting for Nov4th,2008

Are you suffering from Election anxiety?. “This is like waiting for the results of a biopsy” , said one of the critics. If the biopsy result comes back positive, there’s still a potential cure. With this, there’s no cure. The result is final.Well…I’m enjoying all the hype around it. ;)

Both candidates are passionate about what they believe and there are distinct differences in how they engaged their crowd while addressing their passions. Obama sounded professional with his tone of voice, staying focused on the person who asked the question for a while and then talking to the section of people around the questioner. McCain was more on the motivational side and engaged fuller audience by walking around other sections. It is a hard job engaging people sitting around while emphasizing on thoughts embedded deep within your roots. But when it comes to acknowledging , Obama certainly did outshine for his non-verbal behaviour. He made his presence felt, looking at McCain and respectfully waiting for his turn to speak. McCain showed an impression of impatience and being a distracted listener rather than looking at Obama.

“John McCain’s impetuosity is either thrilling or disturbing. Barack Obama’s cool is either sober or detached. It’s clear now how each would govern.” – Newsweek,September Issue. This defintely protrudes the fact that both candidates look at the world differently. McCain is passionate, sometimes impulsive and unpredictable; Obama is precise, occasionally withdrawn and methodical.

The US Election ’08 has been ‘Entertaining’ to the rest of the world(-Courtesy:MSNBC). Rest of the world is concerned about the possible trade protectionism, dispute around climate change, human rights and captialism. WIth just a day to go we’ll know who has been simply holding out and whose resistance is real. The effect of Election ’08 has soared up the skies and the whole world is waiting for new ideas and fresh leadership and  watching which ideal candidate would swear in legally as The President of U.S after 77 days.

With all the excitement surrounding this election marking it as one of the most historical events, I ended up blogging my thoughts on it. Hoping the new leadership paves way for a more pragmatic and positive impact far beyond America’s shores, I head home to see who makes it…the Illinois Senator or the Maverick… :)
